'Sketches of Romsey' competition
As part of the 'Sketches of Romsey' community project, adults and children of all ages have been participating in Rum’s Eg Workshops based in their new Leckford Art Studio and many were seen out and about sketching throughout the town in June.
At a private viewing of the new exhibition last Tuesday evening Rum’s Eg founding director Siriol Sherlock was delighted to announce the winners, and prizes were presented by the Mayor of Romsey Councillor Peter Hurst who attended with his wife. Representatives of Romsey Decorative & Fine Art Society who donated £600 towards the project were also present.

"It is always worrying to have a prize when it comes to art as it is so much about personal taste - but the standard of work on show was excellent and hugely varied - a real credit to the talent of local artists. In addition it was really good to be working at both ends of the Test Valley Borough - Rums Eg are an excellent organisation, an important partner." said Yinnon Ezra

Open exhibition may become an annual event
"We are so pleased with the high standard of work submitted for this, our first open entry exhibition, and that we hope to make such exhibitions a regular feature at Rum's Eg, possibly once a year." said Siriol
