Test Valley Arts Foundation awarded £300 to Transition Town Romsey towards a participatory art event for Romsey Festival 2014. Transition Town Romsey is inviting the public to get involved in a unique art project, entitled ‘Amplifying the Test’, with sculptor Trudi Lloyd Williams.
The finished work will be suspended above a section of the river that meanders around Romsey’s War Memorial Park and will incorporate designs created by community groups out of waste materials at workshops run by the Rum’s Eg Gallery - Where Arts Meets Community.
Test Valley Arts Foundation awarded £250 to Romsey Beggars Fair 2014, a community festival of music, dance and street entertainment that has been running since 1993 in Romsey. They aim to encourage new acts and young performers, but also give established acts access to a wider audience. It takes place in streets, parks, pubs, social clubs and churches around the town centre and is attended by over 5,000 people each year.
