Leading the project will be John Baxter, who was Head of Performing Arts at Harrow Way School for over thirty years, Mark McGann, actor and director, who is a member of the McGann acting family and now heads his own production company, Drama Direct and local author Roy Chatfield, who will be creating the script.
The final piece will be a multimedia production, combining a range of live theatre performance styles and episodes that are filmed.
Performers will be young people of Andover drawn from local schools and the Long Overdue Theatre School. Workshop sessions will be held to get the young people enthused later in the autumn and early in the New Year.
The whole show is expected to be rehearsed during one intense week beginning 16th February 2015. There will be a warm up show held at Harrow Way School on 20th February followed by the official premier performance on 24th February at The Lights Theatre.
The group would like to hear from anyone who would like to share their feelings about how they were affected by the changes in Andover during this era.
If you have a story to tell there are going to be a number of ways in which you can contact the group. You can email your story to firstname.lastname@example.org, and the group are going to be hosting a number of drop in sessions in community centres around Aster Housing Homes during October.
