Largest-ever Grant Award

Arts Trust Supports Council Project With Large Grant Award

Foundation Spark Ignites Light Centre
The Test Valley Arts Foundation has recently awarded its largest-ever single grant (£5,000) to support Test Valley Borough Council’s project to create a new cultural space at the Cricklade Theatre site in Andover. The Foundation’s grant of £5,000 was originally earmarked to encourage community drama in Test Valley, and has now been amended to make a contribution towards the Council’s public arts initiative at the site. As a result of this external support by the Foundation, the Borough Council was able to approach the Arts Council for further funding, and it has just been confirmed that this bid was successful.

An Arts Council grant of £90,000 has now been awarded towards an initiative to transform the approaches to the theatre site into a place where a broad range of art and music can be displayed and performed.

Roy Perry, Chairman of the Test Valley Arts Foundation, commented “This is exciting news for Andover and a major boost to the Foundation’s aims to support cultural initiatives and art forms in Test Valley. Our Trust’s grant of £5,000 was used as a “pump primer” to obtain further funding which will now transform Cricklade into a cultural centre which we hope will encourage artists to work there and will benefit everyone who visits it.”
