Michael Widén
The Test Valley Arts Foundation has recently appointed Michael Widén as its new development officer. Michael Widén is a Swedish citizen who has been based in Hampshire for the past 25 years whilst pursuing his professional career in international marketing and new business development. During this time he has also been heavily involved in various arts events in the community, most recently in promoting one of a series of choral concerts for ‘Voices for Hospices’.

In making the announcement at the Foundation’s AGM on Thursday 1st December, the Chairman Roy Perry said:
“We are delighted to welcome Michael Widén to this important position at a time when the Foundation has exciting plans to develop its work. To date we have contributed over £60,000 to individual artists and arts organisations across the Test Valley area. The Foundation’s trustees believe very much in encouraging a flourishing artistic and cultural scene. This is important for young and old and we hope to further inspire and support all art forms throughout the Test Valley. Over the next few years we have plans to expand our work as a grant giving trust as well as initiating some high profile cultural and arts events.”

Upon his appointment Michael Widén commented:
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the Test Valley Arts Foundation, to encourage and assist the creative activities of individuals and groups resident in the borough, and to raise extra funding for future initiatives.”
