Test Valley Arts Foundation helps Braishfield Primary School with funding
Batik Design Project
The Test Valley Arts Foundation has made an award of £100 to Braishfield Primary School as a contribution towards their Batik Design Project.
The School has a very positive approach to art. All 88 children are involved in a variety of different class projects.
Art Coordinator Mrs Sheila Rapley commented “For some time we have been planning a whole school project to be undertaken this year. We would like to produce a wall hanging for our entrance area to which every child could contribute. The plan is to make a large patchwork of squares which have been decorated with Batik patterns and painted with rich colours. The finished piece will look spectacular, creating a stunning overall impression on visitors, while reflecting the children’s individual efforts. We are most grateful to Test Valley Arts Foundation for their support”.
On handing over the £100 cheque, Roy Perry, Test Valley Arts Foundation chairman, said “We congratulate the children and staff for their initiative in undertaking this work of art which we are delighted to help fund. A world without colour or beauty, without music and poetry, would be a much poorer world. The children of Braishfield through this project have demonstrated that they will be worthy successors to the artistic activity that takes place throughout Test Valley”.
